Navajo Lake features 15,000 surface acres of water and roughly 250 miles of shoreline. The second largest lake in New Mexico, Navajo Lake is habitat for Small & Large Mouth Bass, Crappie, Northern Pike, Catfish, Bluegill, Kokanee Salmon, Carp, Rainbow and Brown Trout. While the lake is open year round, the summer months provide some of the best boating, sailing, jetskiing and waterskiing in New Mexico.
Navajo Lake is only 12 minutes from Abe's Motel & Fly Shop.
Wines of the San Juan is a local winery just a few miles down the road from Abe's. A wine tasting room is open to the public. Founded in 1999, WSJ offers 17 different red and white wines. Many of which are stocked in our fly shop. The winery is located 10 minutes away from Abe's Fly Shop.

Nestled in the juniper , pinon and sandstone cliffs in Farmington lies a beautiful 18 hole golf course. Pinon Hills Golf Course opened in 1989 and was recognized by Golf World magazine as one of the best new desert golf courses. Golf Digest rated Pinon Hills as the #1 municipal course in the nation in 2002.
Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad -
If you are looking for an old fashioned experience packed with fun, hop aboard the D&S Narrow Gauge railroad. Approximately 1 hour from the San Juan, the railroad offers a scenic journey through the mountians of Colorado.
